Sherco began life in the 1990's as a breakout project with some engineers from Gas Gas as well as
world level trials competition experience of Andreu Codina and Marc Tessier. Their first model
became available in 1999 as a 250cc powered machine, the 2.5. Snapping up Graham Jarvis from Scorpa,
the machine debuted in the Belgian round outdoor world trials championship with a podium placing.
Graham also won the Scottish Six Day Trial that year, and the marque was off to a winning start.
Over the next several years, Sherco continued to place well in both the indoor and outdoor series,
and the brand became popular with club riders as well.
The Sherco design is straighforward and an elegant implementation. Stable, yet agile, riders can
choose among several full size models to find the power implentation that most fits their riding
style and section demands. The 2.5, a 249cc two-stroke powered machine, has a very smooth low-end, with a
friendly build towards the top. The 2.9, with a 272cc two-stroke engine, the bike most favored by
top-level riders and features a very strong low end that can quickly build thrust to generate
lift in a short takeoff run. The new 3.2, with a 317cc four-stroke motor, was designed specifically
for trials, and combines both the low-end four-stroke traction that one would expect with a
strong, high-revving top-end.
