Word from the US Gas Gas Importer, Dale Malasek, is that after a delay caused by damage to electrical
component suppliers in Japan from the double-whammy of the earthquake and tsunami, the shipment of
2011 Raga and Econ models has finally hit American shores and is making it through customs at the
New York seaport.
"The bikes have been delayed over three weeks because of the tsunami that destroyed the company that manufactured the electrical components for many of the bike manufacturers in Europe. The GAS GAS factory sent a rep to Japan to secure another company to take over the manufacturing of these components a few days after the big waves hit," explained Dale, fresh off a strong finish at the final 2011 US Mototrial Championship round in Tennessee.
If you are looking for a new trials bike for a reasonable price, this is what you are waiting for. The suggested retail is only $5,449--a savings of almost $2,000 over the standard TXT Pro model.
The 2011 Econ is the 2010 TXT Pro model with lower-priced componentry to reduce the price. Last year's Econ came with the older box-style frame--for 2011, the Econ comes with the new tube-style frame. It's available in both 250cc and 280cc models. A second shipment of 280s and Raga models will be arriving in mid-August.
