In what may be Dougie Lampkin's final Indoor World Trials Championship appearance, the first round of this year's Indoor World Trials Championship turned out to be a nailbighter as Lampkin appeared to take control in the final. Dougie led the field, but fived a leap across barrels. Despite a heroic ride in the next section, the five took Dougie out of contention, and Montesa's Toni Bou maintained his three point advantage over teammate Takahisa Fujinama to win the event. Gas Gas's Adam Raga was only a point off of Fuji's score of 11, with Dougie finishing fourth.
